Rex Richardson
Chief of Staff

Rex Richardson is a Ninth District resident and homeowner in the Coolidge Triangle neighborhood with a background in strategic advocacy, community organizing, and government relations.

Rex is a graduate of Leadership Long Beach, Class of 2010, the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy Leadership Seminar at CSU Monterey Bay, and was elected as 2005-2006 President of Associated Students, Inc., the representative student government, while a student at CSU Dominguez Hills.

Rex is President of the Long Beach Democratic Club, a member of the Fairfield Family YMCA Board of Directors, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and also represented Long Beach to the Democratic National Convention in 2008 as a Delegate for President Barack Obama.

Rex is the former Political and Community Coordinator for Service Employees International Union, Local 721, representing over 80,000 Southern California public service workers within local counties and cities. During his time with SEIU, he served as the Chief Negotiator for the Los Angeles County, Supervising Deputy Probation Officers Association, while solving many complex labor/management issues in numerous Los Angeles County departments. Prior to his time at SEIU, Rex was the Organizer for the Long Beach office of the California Democratic Party, Victory 2006 Coordinated Campaign and many other notable local campaigns.

Ricardo Linarez
Field Deputy/Organizer

Ricardo Linarez has been a resident of the City of Long Beach for more than 26 years. Ricardo is happily married with two beautiful kids. Ricardo served from 1994 to 2003 with the United States Marine Corps. Ricardo is a 2004 Graduated of the Neighborhood Leadership Program. In 2004, former Mayor Beverly O'Neil appointed Ricardo to the Citizen Police Complaint Commission until 2008. Ricardo has an Associate's Degree in Speech Communications from Long Beach City College and a Bachelors' Degree in Communication Studies from California State University Long Beach. As Field Deputy, Ricardo looks forward to meeting with residents to develop a foundation of leaders and volunteers in order to maintain the imagination and involvement of the 9th District.

Kari Faithful

Office Manager/Scheduler

Kari Faithful has more than 15 years of office management experience, most recently with the Long Beach Citizen Police Complaint Commission, where she served as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. Prior to that, she worked as an office manager in private enterprise, bringing with her a wealth of experience conducive to carrying out the duties of the 9th District Office Manager. She serves as the president of her homeowners association and has served on various boards and committees in the community. Kari has an Associates Degree in Computer Software Applications and is a licensed Realtor. She currently owns a home in the 9th District, where she resides with her four sons.

Floyd Hampton Livingston
District Communications Organizer

Floyd Hampton Livingston was born and raised in Long Beach and has been a resident of the Ninth District for the past 13 years. His knowledge and creative strategic social media expertise enables the office of the Ninth District to effectively provide important information to the residents of the Ninth District and expand Councilmember Steven Neal's public relation efforts. He has served as the editor in chief for the 2010 Long Beach City College Magazine that went on to win multiple awards at the regional level. His effective planning abilities provide our team the tools to serve the constiuents of the Ninth District in the best way possible. Floyd is a co-owner of City Life Inc., a social media service and consulting firm

He is currently active in the community by providing an online community building tool called 562CityLife.com for the Generation Y population of Long Beach.
