Working Together For A Better 9th District

Progress Update

Policy

Foreclosure Registry Ordinance

This ordinance gives the City the ability to impose penalties on banks and other entities that fail to maintain vacant, residential properties.
It is a useful tool to protect our neighborhoods from the crime, blight and vermin that vacant buildings attract, while holding banks accountable for paying their fair share.

Business Friendly Principles Resolution

This resolution highlights the business friendly practices and principles our city has to offer. It was submitted as a larger, coordinated regional effort, led by the Southern California Association of Governments in order demonstrate that Southern California is "Open for Business."

Liquor Store Policy

This policy strengthens our current Conditional Use Permit approval standards, and limits the creation of new liquor stores in the City of Long Beach.

"Deemed Approved" Policy

This policy amends our current Administrative Citation policies to apply stricter standards on nuisance liquor stores in residential communities.

Healthy Neighborhood Store Conversion Program

This program provides support, education and incentives to local corner store owners and operators who wish to offer healthier food options to the community.
