North Branch Library
This 24,000 sq ft state-of-the-art library will be the centerpiece of the new North Village Center Revitalization program taking shape on Atlantic Avenue.
Paramount Petroleum Facade Improvements
The RDA completed the facade improvements in May 2010. The improvements included new landscape, fencing and a major public art component, featuring a mosaic art mural.
Fire Station 12
The new station will be a 12,511 sq ft building with a 5,183 sq ft Emergency Resource Center and communications tower. Both buildings are LEED Gold certified and scheduled for completion October 2011.
North Village Center Project
Upon completion, this mixed-use project will completely revitalize four key blocks on Atlantic Avenue. It will include new residential, a Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market restaurants, retail shopping, parking lots, outdoor cafes and a new library.
"Pops" Davenport Park Expansion
The Long Beach Redevelopment Agency will has acquired and relocated the existing business to expand the park by 5.5 acres, which will double its size. The RDA demolished the existing industrial structures and is finalizing work to start construction.
Public Art Installations
The new "TaDa" sculpture located in the median on Artesia Blvd, just east of Long Beach Blvd symbolizes the commitment to enhancing North Long Beach with public art. In addition, we have enlisted local artists to beautify utility boxes with graphics and murals.
Atlantic and Artesia Restaurant Project
This is the location of proposed "Restaurant Row" development. The RDA is conducting a series of meetings to get feedback from the residents of the Ninth District on the type of project they would like to see developed on this key site.
Cherry and South St. Project
This is the site of a proposed end-cap convenience store development. It is privately funded, and is in place of the old Blockbuster Video Store. It is currently in development and should be completed Fall 2011.
