Brent McCloud was born and raised in Inglewood, CA. Growing up, he spent a lot of time with his maternal and paternal grandmothers who lived in the Starr King and College Square neighborhoods of District 9. Brent’s mother and father were both born and raised in North Long Beach, and they met as Jordan High School students in the 1970’s.

Brent received both his Bachelor’s degree and his Master’s in Social Welfare (MSW) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Before joining the D9 team, Brent worked as a Child Protective Social Worker for the County of San Diego. He is currently attending Seminary School, at The King’s University, and is studying to obtain his Master’s in Divinity. (M. Div). As Field Representative, Brent manages D9 constituent services, and oversees various projects in the district, including the Creative Corridor Challenge.
