Uptown Jazz Festival
The Uptown Jazz Festival is a yearly FREE community concert held at Houghton Park that features a taste of jazz sounds for all ages to enjoy. The event includes live performances, a DJ, amazing food, a beer garden, numerous vendor booths, and a kids’ zone. The festival, going on its 8th year, continues to unite the North Long Beach community, in addition to attracting annual attendees outside of the city.
In 2019, over 9,500 attendees enjoyed a day of great food, good company, and amazing music from the Con Funk Shun, Boxcar 7, Susie Hansen’s Latin Jazz Band, DW3, Biscuits and Gravy, and DJ Mr. Quick. In 2019, we also enjoyed live entertainment provided by KJLH. Check out pictures from the 2019 Uptown Jazz Festival here.
Veterans Day Celebration
The Veterans Day Celebration is a free community event for all to enjoy and honor our veterans. The day kicks off with the Annual Veterans Day Parade. Then, we open Atlantic Ave. from South St. to 60th St. for an open street fair that includes Vets Fest and veterans services, community resources, live entertainment, great food, a beer garden, vendor booths, a Kid’s Zone, and more.
Last year, more than 3,500 attendees joined us for a celebratory day. We are proud to present a fun, modern, and distinguished special event unlike any other to honor veterans!
D9 Farmer’s Market
The D9 Farmer’s Market will once again open in the Spring of 2019. It is hosted by the Harbor Area Farmers’ Markets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library Learning Garden (next to 5870 Atlantic Ave., 90805) from 3:00-7:00 PM.
Enjoy farm fresh vendors, goods and tasty treats.
