Coolidge Park just got a major makeover thanks in large part to the generosity of private partnerships, including the Los Angeles Clippers. A special ribbon cutting ceremony was held recently with some of the Los Angeles Clippers players as special guests.

After the ribbon cutting, the players also ran a brief basketball clinic with area schoolchildren who had been invited to participate. Other students had the opportunity for some top notch dance-instruction from the Clippers Girls Spirit Squad.

Also highlighted was our partnership with Kaiser Permanente as additional funding from their HEAL Zone grant provided funds for some additional fitness stations.

So it was certainly an exciting event and we appreciate all the efforts our private partners and our City staff made to make this event happen.

It is all a part of the Uptown Renaissanc that is happening. Residents are encouraged to get out and enjoy their parks and check out these improvements.
