Community Conversation: Opportunity & Justice Summit - Monday, June 1st

On Monday, June 1st, Community Conversations: Opportunity and Justice Summit will commence at Molina Healthcare Event Center from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm. The summit will be a tremendous opportunity to strengthen our communities by keeping young people in school and on a track to meaningful employment.

Over the last year and several months, increased awareness about racial disparities and socioeconomic challenges faced by boys and young men of color have led to the creation of many policies and initiatives. Because of President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, Proposition 47 (California voter passed incarceration reform), as well as a web of local and statewide education movements, we have a unique window of opportunity to dissolve our ineffective incarceration pipelines and keep our young people on a positive and productive path both here in Long Beach and around the country.
